NNYFW presents: Mr. Glen Beattie
Today NNYFW caught up with one of Prep’s most celebrated and fashionable teachers, Mr. Glen Beattie, and interviewed him about shoes.
NNYFW: So Mr. Beattie, if you had to narrow your vast collection of shoes down to just three essential pairs, what would you recomend?
Well you have to get yourself a good pair of hockey skates, a pair of flip flops, and some tennis shoes.
NNYFW: Could you elaborate?
Well for the hockey skates, my favorite brand is Bauers. Make sure you get a pair with a five cut, these will help you turn those hallways quicker when you are rushing to class.
Now for the flip flops, a nice pair of adidas with those little intestinal villi that massage your foot and make them feel like chime. You know how I always say, “No chime before it’s time.” Basically, whatever is most comfortable, as long as there are no thongs! My cardinal rule is: no one over sixty should ever have anything to do with a thong.
NNYFW: What about the tennis shoes?
Well, whenever I need a new pair of tennis shoes, I do one thing. I go down to the sale section at Big 5 and pick a pair from the under $5 section.
NNYFW: Before we go, any other shoe fashion advice?
Besides the three I’ve already mentioned, you can never go wrong with big, clunky hiking boots.
